About the Firm

At the Environmental Law Group, Ltd., we are dedicated to providing sophisticated legal representation in environmental matters to our clients across the country.  Our attorneys have, on average, more than 20 years’ experience in the practice of environmental law.  We have acquired this experience working at federal and state governmental agencies and at large and small private law firms, where we have represented major corporations, small businesses, public agencies, and environmental organizations. This depth of experience and our exclusive focus on environmental law enable us to handle complex environmental matters and cutting edge cases for our clients with expertise, wisdom, and credibility.

Our attorneys are widely recognized for their knowledge and leadership within the field of environmental law. We offer assistance to our clients in every aspect of environmental law at the federal, state and local levels:  regulatory compliance, permitting, environmental review, site assessment and remediation, defense of civil and administrative enforcement actions, litigation, rulemaking, and lobbying.  Our lawyers assist in business strategy development and regularly provide training and assistance to clients regarding New Source Review, multimedia investigations, and other compliance matters.  We represent clients before federal and state courts and agencies in jurisdictions across the country.  In addition, our attorneys serve or have served as adjunct faculty at numerous law schools, are frequent lecturers and authors on new and developing issues in environmental law, and hold or have held leadership positions in the environmental sections of the American Bar Association and Minnesota State Bar Association.

While most of our clients are large industrial corporations, our clients include businesses of all sizes, from Fortune 500 companies to small, privately held manufacturers, who operate in a wide variety of industrial sectors, including steel, paper, wood products, chemicals, agriculture, ethanol, traditional and alternative energy, plastics, defense, mining, and manufacturing.  We also represent major state and regional governmental entities in environmental matters.
