G. Robert Johnson's experience has included virtually every facet of environmental representation.   Bob began his environmental law career as a Minnesota Special Attorney General from 1968 through 1971.  During most of that time he was the legal counsel for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, which he represented in all aspects of regulatory and legislative matters at both the state and federal levels.  He opened his own practice specializing in environmental law and legislative representation in 1971.  For nearly four decades, Bob has focused his law practice and legislative representation on environmental, agricultural and biotechnology issues.  He joined Popham, Haik Schnobrich, Kaufman & Doty, Ltd. as a shareholder in 1975, where he continued his environmental law and legislative practice until 1997.  Bob was a partner at Oppenheimer, Wolff & Donnelly, LLP for three years before helping to form The Environmental Law Group in 2000.

Bob has served as Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association's Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section and Chair of the Environmental Quality Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Environment, Energy and Resources, as well as a member of that Section's Governing Council and liaison from that Section to the National Conference of State Legislators.   He has also been a member of Natural Resource and Environmental Policy Committee of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, and a board member and Legislative Policy Committee member of the Greater Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce.  Bob received his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Minnesota.
